【あらすじ】
1960年代。米国南部の家庭では、ヘルプと呼ばれる黒人メイドを雇うことが一般的だった。
そんな黒人女性たちの処遇に違和感を覚えた作家志望の白人女性は、彼女らの証言を集めた本の執筆を思いついて取材を開始。
やがてそれは、地域社会の変革のきっかけにつながっていく。
勇気ある女性の行動に感動。
